Testing the strength and penetration of your welded parts and products
For clients wishing to know the quality and penetration of their welds, as an additional service we offer Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). NDT is the process whereby components, assemblies or the property of a material can be evaluated without being damaged or compromised in any way. This allows the part to be used after testing.
NDT forms part of our full range of services, so we truly are a one stop shop for all your processing and manufacturing needs. We offer two main methods of testing:
Hydrostatic pressure testing enables us to locate leaks at certain pressures and to verify the durability of products including tubing, coils and pipes. This service also allows for all welds to be tested to a given pressure.
Dye penetrant testing
This process enables us to identify surface faults in welding. The area to be tested is ground or wire brushed, a dye penetrant is applied and then removed with a dye pen remover. The area is then covered with a developer and any dye showing through identifies faults to be ground out.
Additional testing options
We work in partnership with independent testing houses that offer various additional testing services, including Charpy impact testing, Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Positive Material Identification (PMI). Please get in touch to find out more about all the testing options available.
